We welcome submissions from writers with something to say. All submissions will be acknowledged as soon as they are received, and either accepted for publication or rejected (sorry!) within one month.
We are seeking work in three main categories: New Works, On Writing, and Reviews. If you would like to be a reviewer for Perilous Adventures, please send a sample review and your contact details to the reviews editor, Carla Billinghurst, at reviews@perilousadventures.net.
We don't have firm editorial guidelines or biases: our focus is on publishing the best work we can find, regardless of genre, content, focus or theme. What we want is writing that sparks. Writing that inspires us.
Like all readers, we are easily distracted by poorly edited or sloppily presented work so please proofread your work carefully before submitting it to us.
We are not overly concerned with length, however we do NOT publish novel-length works, and are unlikely to publish works over about 10,000 words.
Perilous Adventures does not currently pay for submissions. Works published by us are published under a non-exclusive first electronic rights, unless you request something different (such as a Creative Commons licence). We will consider reprints.
New Works

New Works includes short fiction, poetry and other creative work. We will consider extracts from novels that can be read in isolation.SUBMIT
Reviews

Reviews of current, or classic, fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Reviews should be engaging and well-written and should provide readers with a clear sense of the strengths and weaknesses of the work under review.In terms of reviews of non-fiction, we are particularly interested in reviews of books about writing, including how-to books, philosophical or historical works, and author biographies.
